National Patient Access & Choice Survey Outcomes for 2007/2008

Some of you may recall being sent a National Questionnaire commissioned by the Department of Health asking about your experiences when you visit Elsenham Surgery.

Following the 2007/08 Patient Access and Choice Survey in which our Practice participated, we are pleased to provide you with our Practice results below, which show we are performing above average in all categories compared against our Primary Care Trust's averages.

We would like to thank all our Patients who participated in this survey for their support, and we are delighted to see that so many of our patients feel they have excellent access when they need to see a Doctor at Elsenham Surgery.

The demand for appointments is ever increasing as a result of our efforts to provide a greater range of health care to our patients.  We constantly strive to offer patients a range of options when booking an appointment and review the system regularly for improvements.  If you are unsure about the best type of appointment for you, please check with our Receptionist or see the Appointments section of our website for guidance.

PATIENT CHOICE OF HOSPITAL OFFERED BY THE DOCTOR PRIOR TO A CONSULTANT REFERRAL

The results of the "Choice" survey are very important to us and confirms that Elsenham Surgery is committed to offering choice to all patients requiring first consultant outpatient appointments.  Our Doctors hold an initial discussion with the patient about the range of clinically appropriate choice of providers available.  Clinical information is given to help the patient make an informed decision about his/her hospital provider.

If you would like more information about the new NHS Choose & Book System for referring patients for specialist treatment, please see the Choose & Book section of our website, or pick up a leaflet from Reception.
