Contact and Repeat Medication

From 1 January 2010, we will no longer be able to take your repeat medication requests over the telephone.

The reason for this withdrawal in service is primarily patient safety.  In order to protect you as patients, we need to ensure you obtain the correct medication every time.  Errors may occur if messages are unclear.

Recommended ways to order your medication:

·         Email: us at dispensary@gp-f81111.nhs.uk

·         Fax – your repeat request to us on 01279 647342

·         By Hand – you can put your repeat request through the surgery letterbox

·         Post – us your repeat request

·         In Person – at the Dispensary Window. We will print your repeat page and you can tick the items you need.

If you would like to discuss your medication needs in full confidence please ring Doreen Scraggs, Dispensary Manager on 01279 818000.

We can offer repeat prescriptions within 48 hours – (By which we mean two full working days, not including Bank Holidays and Weekends).  We need this time to carry out essential safety checks and ensure safe dispensing for all our patients.

The Dispensary is open Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 6.30pm (closed 12.30pm – 2pm), and is open late on Monday evenings until 9pm.

The Dispensary is closed Saturday and Sunday.

Please  We ask for 48 hours notice to have your prescription ready for you to collect. It has to go before the doctor before it can be released.

Please re-order when you have about 1 -2 weeks supply left.

We are sorry but we are unable to prescribe more than a month’s supply of your drugs at a time.

Non-dispensing patients can leave us a supply of SAE if they wish, so that if requested, we will post their repeat prescription to them.

Our staff are here to help you with repeat prescriptions and any queries or advice needed concerning your medication.  If you have any questions or do not understand fully how to take your medicine, please ask to speak to a member of the dispensary team.

Dispensary Opening Hours

MONDAY - FRIDAY (excluding Public Holidays)

Morning:                               08.30 – 12.30  

Afternoon/Evening:               14.00 – 18.30        

Note: Mondays Late Opening: 18.30 - 21.00

Emergency Medication:

When Dispensary is closed, call the Emergency Doctor Service (TEDS) on 01371 877410.
